First day of school is triply exciting! thumbnailAs the new term begins triplets Ellie, Kasie, and Codie McCafferty have been settling into school life, and meeting new friends this week at Faughanvale Primary School, the three ladies will no doubt make a big impact on the class of 18 that started at th

FAUGHANVALE Primary School had three very special children starting in primary one this week, as the school welcomed triplets for the first time ever.
Ellie, Codie and Kasie Cafferty all started at the Greysteel school together on Tuesday (Sept 2), with P1 teacher Miss Clare Gallagher.
The girls spoke to the Northern Constitution and they all seemed very happy to be starting school.
Kasie said: "I can read names and I can write my own name but I'm going to learn lots of other things to read and write at school.
“I think school is nice. I got a new schoolbag and it has Hello Kitty on it."
Ellie was equally delighted with her new school. She said: "My schoolbag has Peppa Pig on it.
“The classroom is very nice and it has lots of nice pictures on the wall.
“When you come to school you learn things and you do homework."
Codie was also impressed with her first day at Faughanvale. She said: "We have two big sisters at this school Amy who is in P4 and Shannon who is in P7. Amy used to be in the classroom beside ours but now she is upstairs.
“I got a new schoolbag too and mine is a Dora the Explorer bag."
Miss Gallagher said she believes it is the first time triplets have been at the school.
She added: "As a teacher I'm very lucky that the girls don't look too alike," laughed Miss Gallagher. "It makes it much easier for me.
“I taught twins before, they were non-identical but they were very alike and it was difficult to tell them apart, it wasn't so bad when they were together, but speaking to one in isolation could be a little confusing.
“There are 18 primary ones this year, we had 11 pupils in on Monday and seven in today (Tues) so you get a chance to get to know the children, and you can see already that the triplets are real wee individuals.
“They just came into school this morning no problem and they have settled in well already."
