NI hopes pinned on Dungiven lad! thumbnailEoghan Quigg and Nona Brolly at his school formal Thursday September 25 at the O’Neill Arms Hotel in Toomebridge.

DUNGIVEN'S very own up and coming star Eoghan Quigg has been left one step closer to his X-Factor dream after surviving two major rounds in the ITV talent show at the weekend.
The 16-year-old was handpicked by celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Tweedy, Danni Minogue and Louis Walsh to go through to the final stage of the nation's biggest talent competition, before the show's live finals later in the month.
The St Patrick's College student, who celebrated his formal last week, is now the only Northern Ireland contestant left in the competition and down to the last 24 contestants who are battling it out to grasp the £1million recording contract prize.
Eoghan has now jetted out to Simon Cowell's Barbados retreat where it is hoped he will sing his way to the televised ITV finals later this month.
Punters' bets are still riding high on the Dungiven lad, who has been dubbed "adorable" and "cute" by X-Factors two glamorous judges, Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue.
This week betting giant Paddy Power has given the teen a 10-1 shot at winning the major singing competition, even though it hasn't yet been confirmed that he will go through to the shows live finals.
Music mogul Simon Cowell is currently mentoring the young stars category of the 14-24 year old boys, and has proclaimed he will have the winner of 2008's X-Factor. Speaking on Sunday night's ITV2 Programme Simon pointed to Eoghan and told the other judges: "He's the one to beat".
So, watch this space...we believe the boy is destined for very, very big things!
