‘Loving father’ is laid to rest

TOUCHING tributes have been paid to "a loving father" who was laid to rest on Sunday after suffering fatal injuries while walking his dog. Jason Walsh died after being involved in a collision with a Renault car on the Glenhead Road, near Limavady, on Thursday night (October 27).
It is understood that the 42-year-old, from Limavady, had left his own vehicle with a mechanic and was walking back to town when tragedy struck shortly before 6.15pm, between Ballynarrig Road and Baranailt Road.
Father-of-two Mr Walsh died at the scene. His funeral service was held at Derramore Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
The Minister, Rev Stephen McCracken said Mr Walsh would be "greatly missed." He added: "Jason was a great family man and very well-respected. It's a great shock to us all. He was a loving father and they're a great family."
SDLP Assemblyman Gerry Mullan said there was widespread shock in the Limavady area. He added: "This is just yet another tragedy on rural roads. Undoubtedly, Mr Walsh's family and friends are experiencing unspeakable grief and I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathies to them at this time.
