Limavady Rotary Tree of Remembrance returns!
Thursday, 17 November 2016
IT'S that time of year again, folks as members of the Limavady Rotary Club will once again be standing out in the cold seeking charitable donations for its two local charities which do such fantastic work - St Vincent De Paul and the Salvation Army.
This is the sixth year that the local Rotary Club are fortunate enough to be able to raise money for these two great charities. The club are very grateful to the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council who allow them to use the tree for the famous remembrance yellow ribbons. Every single ribbon is written on by a member of the public and it carries the memory of a loved one who is no longer present.
Brian McMurray of Limavady Rotary Club said: "The people of Limavady and the Roe Valley have been so generous to us over the last five years.
“This is year number six and we have raised over £20,000.00 so far. Every single penny goes to our two fantastic charities who are there for the people of the borough, just as Limavady Rotary Club are, 52 weeks of the year, 365 days a year.
