ĎA true gentlemaní thumbnailMr Ryan McCaul who died as a result of a road traffic accident on Monday morning.

TRIBUTES have poured in for local man Ryan McCaul who was tragically killed in a road traffic collision yesterday (Monday, December 5). Police confirmed that 31-year-old Mr McCaul from the Dungiven area, died following a two vehicle collision involving an Audi A3 car and a Ford Transit van on the Foreglen Road, between Claudy and Dungiven, just after 6.30am on Monday December 5.
Two Northern Ireland Ambulance Service A&E crews attended the scene and three other patients were transported to Altnagelvin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were later released.
The Foreglen Road remained closed in both directions for most of Monday following the crash.
Mr McCaul's death comes only weeks after 64-year-old Loreto Douglas, a former nun from Londonderry, was killed following a three vehicle collision on the Glenshane Pass.
Yesterday friends and people who knew Mr McCaul, took to social media to express their shock and sympathy for the popular young man.
One friend described Mr McCaul as, "The biggest character I have ever met," while another called him, "A true gentleman." A further post read: "A man who was larger than life and who would brighten anyone's day."
