A worthy award for Elizabeth

LIMAVADY woman Elizabeth Scott has spoken of her delight at being awarded a Lidl Local Hero award as part of its Community Works Programme.
Lidl's Community Works Programme, which is now in its third year, searches the region for local community heroes.
The aim of the programme is to recognise those individuals who give their time and effort to a cause that is both close to their hearts and the hearts of their local communities and Elizabeth has certainly done just that.
For the past 30 years, Elizabeth has worked voluntarily as secretary for Aghanloo Community Assoc-iation (ACA) and was nominated for the award by Aghanloo Community Assoc-iation treasurer, John Thompson.
Speaking to the Northern Constitution this week John said: "When I saw that Lidl Limavady were looking for nominations for the Community Works Programme awards, I instantly thought of Elizabeth."
Rosemary Savage, Chairperson for Aghanloo Community Association said: "Elizabeth was a worthy candidate for the nomination.
“She is a great organiser and epitomises community spirit and her work here at the centre over the years has helped to develop and maintain a community hub, welcoming to everyone."
Aghanloo Community Association provides premises for local community groups. There are weekly Irish Dancing classes, Arts and Crafts workshops, informative sessions and the Women's Institute meet there on a monthly basis.
