ALMOST four months after the tragic death of Daniel 'Dano' Sheridan, Magilligan Motocross track will reopen this Saturday, (December 17) with the support of the Sheridan family. Daniel, 13, from Dublin, died as a result of an incident during a practice session at the popular motocross track on Thursday August 25, this year.
Philip McCullough, owner of Magilligan MXPark, made the decision to close the track following Daniel's death.
In a heartfelt interview with the Northern Constitution, Mr McCullough explained how he decided to close the track on the day of Daniel's death, due to the circumstances and out of respect for the Sheridan family.
The father of twin boys described how his world was "turned upside down". Mr McCullough said "What happened to Daniel will remain with me till the day I die.
“I was first person on the track the day of the accident and I, along with Daniel's mother and brother, waited with him until the paramedics arrived. It has affected me terribly.
