Sixth MBE for Limavady thumbnailFormer Drumachose PS and Limavady Grammar School pupil Paula Philpott who was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours List for her services to education in Northern Ireland.

A FORMER Drumachose PS and Limavady Grammar School pupil, has been awarded an MBE for her services to education in Northern Ireland.
Limavady's Paula Philpott, who now lives in Belfast was named by Queen Elizabeth II, in her New Year's Honours list.
Paula who has worked with the South Eastern Regional College (SERC) for 13 years.
With a passion for learning and teaching Paula said she has found great satisfaction working within the further education sector.
Paula works alongside staff providing training and support as they seek to implement dynamic and innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
Her passion is for technology enhanced learning, thoughtfully built upon pedagogic design and teaching.
Last year Paula worked alongside her colleagues to lead the college to win the prestigious Beacon award for The Effective Use of Technology in Further Education.
Paula has been responsible for spearheading the development of technological and pedagogical skills within the college which have seen fantastic outcomes in student success and achievement rates.
She has been invited to share these approaches locally, nationally and internationally.
