LIMAVADY United suffered a double blow on Saturday, going down at home to Dundela but by far the greater loss will be that of Bryan McClelland who suffered a serious leg break that is likely to rule him out of action for a considerable time. Dundela were a much changed team from that which had played out a 2-2 draw three weeks previously at Wilgar Park, with their most eye catching signing being giant goalkeeper Alan Blayney. United, by contrast, were to rue the absence of Gary McFadden in midfield, wrongly suspended in a case of mistaken identity but had Robbie Hume seeking to equal Elmer Wallace's 1972 record of having scored in nine consecutive matches.
The Roesiders once again were slow out of the blocks and this time were made to pay, falling behind in the third minute.
And what a soft goal it was with Murdock having a free header from a corner, nodding in from ten yards, with no home defender making a challenge and Wells having no chance to react. To their credit, the Champions responded well as Thompson twisted and turned to make space on the bye line before shooting over the bar.
