Go Team Jonah! thumbnailRunning for Jonah is Katrine, Andrew, Darron McMichael, Diane and Ryan in good spirits as they start their training to run this year’s Belfast Marathon for the Butterfly Lodge at Altnagelvin hospital and the NI Children’s Hospice.

THIS coming May, a Limavady relay team will take on the Belfast City Marathon to raise much needed funds for Northern Ireland Children's Hospice and Altnagelvin's Butterfly Lodge. Inspiring the local team of Darron McMichael, Katrine McDermott, Andrew McDermott, Diane McLaughlin and Ryan Kennedy, is one special little boy and Darron's son, Jonah.
Jonah was born at The Royal Maternity Hospital, Belfast on October 10 2014 by emergency section after what his parents Moira and Darron describe as, "a complicated and risky pregnancy."
Jonah has Down's Syndrome and a lot of complex medical conditions. "We knew from very early on in the pregnancy that there were complications," said Moira. "We were told our baby had Down's Syndrome but as a family that was never an issue for us."
