H&A Mechanical Division Three
LIMAVADY who came close to promotion last season never came close to that form when they were well beaten by a Glack team that played to their strengths and were much more potent in attack.
On this performance it was obvious that manager John McLaughlin had been putting them through their paces.
It was performers like Niall McGowan, Jimmy O'Connor, Martin McGonigle, Cairan McGowan and Edward McLaughlin who led from the front.
Limavady were not lacking in effort but they struggled to break down a very solid Glack defence.
Eoin Kelly did give them a bit more bite when he came on as a second half sub but overall it was not the performance expected considering the amount of work that the management had put in with promotion the aim.
Conor Boyd, promising 17 year old full back Harry McLaughlin, tall midfielder Jack Deery and Sheagh McLaughlin could not be faulted.
Where they fell down was in attack which indulged in too much short play.
This was Glack's opening league game while Limavady came to Brolly Park with two comfortable wins under their belts.
Yet it was the winners who moved with more cohesion and fluency.
