A special present for Paula thumbnailPaula McElhinney with Martina at the BBC Street Auction in Alexander Road Limavady.

DRUMSURN woman Paula McElhinney received the shock of a life-time after she was given special recognition at the BBC filming of Street Auction in Limavady recently. The mother-of-five was nominated by members of the Huntington's Disease Association Northern Ireland (HDANI), a charity in which Paula has been a volunteer for nearly ten years.
A number of stalls were set up by local volunteers in Alexander Road along with donations of unwanted books, plants, cakes, clothes and bric-a-brac, sold by neighbours in order to benefit a member of their community. Little did Paula know that she had been nominated as that special member.
Paula said: "I had no clue whatsoever, absolutely none! It wasn't until the presenter, Paul Martin said something, a couple of times, about a special person and I was led to believe it was for the actual group (HDANI)."
Despite the wet weather, crowds gathered to observe filming of the BBC's antique programme where customers and volunteers were interviewed and treated to music and dancing.
