ST Aidan's Primary School, Magilligan, commemorated a remarkable achievement last week by celebrating 50 years of the school's opening.
The school held a special golden anniversary mass, celebrated by Bishop McKeown and assisted by local Parish Priest, Fr O'Hagan, on Wednesday June 21.
Ryan McLaughlin, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, welcomed everyone to the occasion including a number of former employees and ex-pupils of the school.
Mr McLaughlin paid special thanks to the hard work of the teaching and support staff throughout the last half century, including all who had been involved in the PTA and Board of Governor Committees.
Mr McLaughlin said: "What an achievement it is. To be in existence for 50 years tells us that a lot of hard work and determination, skill, sacrifice and personal commitment has been exhibited here at St Aidan's, in abundance, by a large number of persons over that significant period of time.
