Winds of change for Binevenagh? thumbnailA map of the proposed wind farm close to Limavady. NCL31-13s

A PROPOSED nine turbine wind farm outside Limavady is being put out for public consultation by English company RES Group amid some local opposition.
The planned project, called Dunbeg South Wind Farm, in the townland of Gortcorbies, approximately six kilometres north east of Limavady, will be open for discussion at LCDI at the Roe Valley Hospital on Tuesday August 8, from 2pm to 8pm.
The RES Group (Renewable Energy Systems) is a global renewable energy company which has been active in the renewable energy industry for over 30 years.
It is believed environmental surveys have been ongoing in recent months in order to ensure that the site is suitable for a wind farm development and to inform the layout and design.
RES is now at the stage of consulting with the local community on the proposal with the intention of submitting a planning application later this year.
