The show must go on!

TO boost community spirit, organisers of the annual Eglinton Show have unanimously agreed to continue with this year's event this weekend, (Saturday September 9) with all proceeds taken at the gate going towards the flood relief fund.
After a month worth of rain fell in just nine hours on Tuesday August 22, the village of Eglinton and the surrounding area has been pulling together to support each other through this difficult time.
Speaking to the Northern Constitution, Secretary Hester Craig confirmed the much loved show will be staged as normal.
Hester said: "We held a committee meeting last week and there was a unanimous decision to go ahead with the show. We want to show our positivity and community spirit in adversity. We decided we need to have it for the community.
“St Canice's Church and Hall were damaged in the flood so we have a marquee set up for the show.
“That should be the only major change really, apart from that everything seems to be going ahead as normal, and we will work around any issues.
