IT'S feet up and slippers on for a well-deserving Care Worker who retired from Edenvale Care Home after a long and happy 26 years of service.
Limavady woman, Angela Clarke, was overwhelmed when she was celebrated at her retirement in April by the staff and residents of the home she had worked in for so many years.
The grandmother of six said: "I loved my job and I am so sorry I had to leave. I made so many friends during my time there and I will miss both them and the residents I cared for.
“I had a great relationship with my colleagues and the residents. I was so fond of my job there."
Angela worked in Roe Park Nursing Home as Domestic for 20 years before her time as a care worker in Edenvale and stressed how she had never been unemployed in her 40 plus years of work until now.
She continued: "Everyone treated me very well while I was there and they even took me out for a meal after my retirement. My boss surprised me with a lovely clock and a bunch of flowers. I knew nothing about it at the time.
“I was so devoted to my job but I had to go at sometime - you can't work all your life. I will maybe look into doing something voluntary and get my mind back into something like visiting people in their houses.
