Amazing Slaughtneil complete the Provincial treble again thumbnailSlaughtneil captain Patsy Bradley lifts the cup after Slaughtneil defeated Cavan Gaels in the Ulster Senior Club Championship final.

SLAUGHTNEIL.........................1-15 CAVAN GAELS.......................0-10

IT is not often that your easiest game in a competition is in the final. That was the case at The Armagh Athletic Grounds on Sunday afternoon when Slaughtneil scored a comfortable 1-15 to 0-10 victory over Cavan Gaels who were appearing in their first final for 40 years.
This means that Slaughtneil have completed back to back provincial trebles in football, hurling and camogie and there could be more to come.
While it was never a classic, Slaughtneil overcame an unusual amount of missed chances, particularly in the first half. When they had scored 0-3 by the 14th minute, it really could have been 1-7 or more. In that period of dominance, both Padraig Cassidy and Ronan Bradley missed clear cut goal chances. On closer inspection, to end with 1-15 is commendable, considering that they were minus three regular forwards who were on the injured list. In actual fact, they equalled the highest score ever in an Ulster senior club final.
