A gentleman who will be sadly missed thumbnailFormer Limavady Mayor and UUP councillor Jackie Dolan who passed away last week.

TRIBUTES have been paid to a former mayor of Limavady and distinguished member of the Loyal Orders who has sadly passed away.
Father-of-four John 'Jackie' Dolan passed away peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, Londonderry on Tuesday January 2 and was laid to rest following a service at Christ Church in Limavady last Friday (January 5).
Mr Dolan, who served on the old Limavady council as an Ulster Unionist during the 1990s, was also a former Worshipful Master at Aghanloo Lodge.
Ulster Unionist Party Leader Robin Swann MLA said: "Jackie Dolan was a long-standing public representative who served on Limavady Borough Council for many years, and was a consistent advocate for the town and surrounding area.
“As a councillor, he enjoyed the support of the people of Limavady and the respect of political friend and foe alike.
“He epitomised the finest traditions of public service and the Ulster Unionist Party and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by the people of Limavady and his former colleagues.
“I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his wife and family at this very sad time."
