ON Thursday January 4, Limavady High School held its annual open evening for prospective pupils entering post primary school in September 2018. The evening was, once again, an outstanding success as upwards of 700 parents and pupils packed the school assembly hall, drama theatre and the adjoining corridors to hear the opening remarks from the Acting Principal Mr Mornin and current Year 8 pupils Rachael Riley and Sam Curry.
Mr Mornin said: "Limavady High School is a very popular, well established and highly thought of school.
“This was proven last year when the school had 155 applications for 140 spaces, meaning that we were oversubscribed.
“Out of the 140 places available, we had 131 first preferences, leaving only nine second preference spaces.
“I had a lot of disappointed parents in my office so my advice to all parents this year would be, if you want to ensure your child's place at this school, put us down as your first preference.
