Coming together to tackle crime

A GROUP of concerned residents in Ballykelly's Loughview Estate have set up a Neighbourhood Watch to combat crime in the area. Comprising of home owners who live on the estate, situated on the old army base, the houses were originally sold to first time buyers.
Residents have been complaining for a while on various social media sites about the lack of a Community Police presence in the town and believe this has lead to a rise in crime in the area. The PSNI has informed The Northern Constitution that they do not believe a spike in crime has taken place.
The Co-ordinator of the new Loughview Estate Neighbourhood Watch told The Northern Constitution he believes the group has already made a real difference.
He said: "Over the last while, me and a group of concerned people noticed that the neighbourhood has changed from when we first moved in.
