What a waste! thumbnailThe volunteers from Northern Ireland Environment Support Group bagged-up the effects of the fly-tipping to be taken away by council.

A GROUP of volunteers, who cleared out an area close to a Boveedy Road renowned for fly-tipping, are appealing for the public to stop "dumping their waste." The volunteers, who all hail from Belfast to the north coast and from the Northern Ireland Environment Support Group, took it upon themselves to embark on a clean-up mission of the Barnside Road in January this year.
The group was shocked to discover waste which had been discarded along the bogland that also played home to an array of unusual insects, moths, butterflies, fungi and plants.
Among the rubbish which had been dumped by members of the public were tyres, fridges, freezers, ovens, household waste, gardening waste, dead animals, children's toys, car seats, mattresses and suites of furniture.
