First anniversary for LIPS

Thursday, 22 March 2018

LIPS marked its one year anniversary with a hugely successful formal dinner dance, held at the Drummond Hotel, Ballykelly, on Saturday March 10.
The night saw supporters, committee members, volunteers, family, friends and those affected by suicide come together to show support and gratitude for the work LIPS has achieved in its first year. Through everyone's generous support, 3043 was raised which will help LIPS continue to raise awareness of suicide and facilitate mental health programmes in Limavady.
After a champagne reception and a four course meal, Limavady Big Band were on hand to provide entertainment for the night. During Christmas, they busked around Limavady town and raised 400. Rounding it up to 500, they generously donated that money to LIPS during the formal, and have future plans to continue raising money and support.
Speaking on the night, co-founder Sam Barr thanked LIPS's supporters, committee members and volunteers for allowing LIPS to have achieved so much in one year.
