Titans have a belter grading thumbnailMembers of Limavady Titans, who got certificates of their new ranks at a grading on Saturday March 24.

A HOST of new belts were awarded at a belt grading and ceremony by Limavady Titans at the weekend, Saturday March 24.
The grading which lasted over four hours seen 38 people taking to the mats to reach the next step towards their black belts.
All abilities and ages from five year olds to adults were trying to get a range of different belts from beginner white belts right up to the penultimate brown belt which is the last belt before being awarded the much coveted black belt.
Willie Lowry, Head Coach at Limavady Titans, said that everyone did well in what was a very hard day of training and that there was a wide range of skills and abillities on show.
He told the Northern Constitution: "It turned out really well there were some nerves from a few of the younger ones who took part in the grading but they did great. I think that a little bit of nerves are great when it come to a belt grading, it shows that the people taking part in the really want that next belt. The young ones in particular showed a huge desire to get their next belts. You can tell they really want to be good and they are determined to get there.
I think that a grading like this really build character and really help with a child's self discipline. It's great to see how happy the kids are when you call out their names and they get their belts."
