Triangle Triathlon Club blasts ‘tax on charity’ thumbnail

THE chairman of the Triangle Triathlon Club (TTC) has written to the six MLA's and one MP in the East Londonderry constituency to outline the serious impact new legislation will have on charity events and the wellbeing of people in the area.
Peter Jack revealed to the Northern Constitution that recently implemented road traffic regulations mean any triathlon or road race organised in the area will be required to foot the bill for the PSNI to provide road safety.
The Roads (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (NI) 2010 and the Road Traffic Regulations (NI) Order 1997 have recently been enacted and running clubs across the country have been informed of the changes.
On behalf of TTC Mr Jack decided to make clear his frustrations in the form of a letter to all elected representitives in the constituency.
