Rubbish way to treat our beaches! thumbnail

AS temperatures rise across the North Coast the issue of safety and hygiene on one of the areas most popular beaches has been raised by a keen Limavady walker.
Castlerock beach is littered with rubbish and could cause a serious risk to health and safety, according to enthusiastic athlete Peter Jack.
The one kilometre long stretch of sand, which sits between the cliffs of Downhill, is managed by Causeway Coast and Glens Council and backs onto Castlerock Golf Club and a caravan site.
The picturesque beach and dunes is designated as a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) and an Area of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI).
