PRE-SEASON preparations continued for Sean Friars on Saturday, as Limavady United played out a creditable 1-1 draw in wretched conditions.
The torrential rain was certainly a help in levelling the contest for the unfortunate players, but although the home side rode their luck at times, and at others were grateful to their stand in goal keeper, they were competitive too, and even had chances to win the game.
All the scoring was over in the first five minutes. Ballymena took the lead within forty seconds, as their hosts were cut open with a lightning move, as a ball down the left wing was cut back to Ryan Mayse running into the box who scored past Brown. In their previous two visits to Rathmore Road the visitors have scored ten goals, so the home side might have feared the worst, but to their great credit they were level within three minutes. Hume played a fine pass to Logue, who was free on the right, and he drew the keeper before steering the ball into the far corner of the goal.
