Jamie's memory lives on thumbnail

A FATHER'S love for a son is unquestionable, but for one Limavady man the heartbreak of losing his son has driven him to spearhead a charity to help others in need.
Sam Barr lost his son Jamie in 2016 when he took his own life without warning or signs of trouble.
Jamie's cousin Rachel is gearing up to run the Derry and Strabane Waterside half-marathon to raise funds for the charity Sam and friends set up to help people in times of need.
Sam and friend Willy Mulhern, and others, set up Limavady Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide (LIPS).
In 2016 297 people in Northern Ireland died by suicide. The previous year, 2015, the figure was 318.
