Character and desire pleases Friars thumbnailLimavady United defender Emmet Friars was on the scoresheet in Friday night’s draw against Ballyclare Comrades.

LIMAVADY United manager Sean Friars admits he was pleased with his side's character as they picked up their first point of the new Bluefin Sport Championship campaign away at Ballyclare Comrades.
The Roesiders fell behind in the first-half via  Christopher Crane and after surviving an onslaught from the home side, United equalised on the stroke of half-time as Emmet Friars headed home from Robbie Hume's corner-kick.
The result is a major boost for United as they lost their opening two games, with Ballyclare having secured maximum points prior to last Friday night's meeting.
Speaking to the Northern Constitution, Friars hopes his players can now kick-on after earning their first point at Dixon Park.
“It's a relief to get a point on the board but to be honest, we always chat about getting three points from every game we play," Friars said.
“One thing that I was very pleased with was our character as the players showed me something that I knew they had all along and that is fire in their bellies.
