Titans produce 3 grand champions

Once again the Limavady Titans Kickboxing team have proved that they are a real force to be reckined with collecting another good haul of trophies last weekend.
THE kickboxing fighting circuit is coming near an end this year with only a few tournaments left for the Limavady Titans.
This past weekend the Titans travelled to Dublin yet again to compete in the Best of the best tournament. The Limavady club had 11 members fighting in the tournament that is held 4 times a year, in which winning 3 of the events earns the title of Irish Best of the best Grand Champion for the following year.
First Titan to fight on the day was Willie Lowry who defeated his opponent 9-3 before taking on one of Ireland's top fighters in Kane Corrigan from Tallagh Kickboxing club. After full time they were even on points meaning that Lowry had to pull out all the stops to advance to the final, but advance he did, to take on WAKO Irish Champion Jay Daniels.
Unfortunately Lowry couldn't overcome this final hurdle as Daniels won the final by 7 points to 2.
However Lowry had little time to mull over his loss as he had to compete for the title of Irish best of the best Grand Champion in the Veteran section, a title which he won in some style after his prior disappointment.
Liam McLaughlin fought his way to third place in the Senior Black belt section.
Due to other commitments, the Titans didn't have as many competitors at the event as usual, but still managed to bring home 7 first place finishes, 2 seconds, and 5 thirds and can now boast 3 Grand Champions in Nicole Duffy, Zoe McLucas and Willy Lowry.
