Two for the price of one thumbnailHappier days for sacked IFA Chief executive Howard Wells and IFA President Raymond Kennedy.

LIMAVADY man and Irish Football Association president Raymond Kennedy is temporarily taking on the role of IFA chief executive in the wake of Howard Wells' dismissal.
The governing body's 11-man board will meet on Thursday to discuss how best to take the association forward after they parted company with Englishman Wells earlier this week when the IFA revealed that it had "terminated" the chief executive's employment in the "best interests of the association".
At this meeting the panel is expected to decide whether Kennedy should continue in the job in the interim, until a successor is appointed.
Mr. Kennedy himself is keeping tight-lipped about the situation as it comes just weeks after it was revealed that Wells had taken up a grievance case against the IFA, claiming he had been treated unfairly because he was English. Two individuals were named in his complaint, one of them IFA president Kennedy.
Kennedy stated that he wasn't keen to go into detail about the situation, "in case there are further implications".
National team boss Nigel worthington will be hoping that these further unnecessary distractions for his players will not distract them from trying to get the wheels back on their faltering World Cup qualifying campaign. Northern Ireland take on San Marino tonight (Wednesday) and will be desperate not to be the first team to ever lose a competitive fixture to the team rated lowest in European football.
