Derry finish strong to reach All Ireland Final thumbnailLimavady Wolfhound players Brian Og Mullan and Callum Brown celebrate the Derry Minorís win over Dublin.

DERRY........................................0-17 DUBLIN........................................0-14

DERRY are into their first All Ireland Minor final in ten years after finishing strong to ease past a wasteful Dublin team in a thrill a minute semi final at Croke Park.
There were times when Derry struggled to contain the strong Dublin forward line but in the second half, they gelled a lot better. After looking a bit vulnerable at the back in the first half, the Derry rearguard was nothing short of brilliant in the second half as they cut out dangerous Dublin attacks time after time.
Four David Lacey points and two each from James Doran and Ross McGarry helped Dublin to a 0-8 to 0-7 interval lead with Patrick Quinn hitting four Derry scores.
Manager Damian McErlean was delighted with his team's display: "We showed great character against a very good Dublin team in front of their own supporters," he said. "It is Kerry now in the final and we will go back and plan for that.
“They have David Clifford, a wonderful player, and a well balanced team of top class players. We have a strong squad too and even some of the players who were not on today's team sheet are worthy of a start. Once again, our subs played a big part and it will not be easy picking a team for the final."
Well supplied
In attack, Derry were well supplied by Oisin McWilliams from midfield. In the scoring department, his brother Lorcan, who won frees and pointed, was Man of the Match with six points, five from frees to his credit. Richie Mullan and Mark McGrogan also stepped up to the mark.
For a county that gets so much money for coaching, the Dublin tackling was very poor. They gave away free after free when Derry ran at them and McWilliams took full advantage.
