Shane Shines! thumbnailDaniel Stewart Ninja Kart hat trick winner at Tullyroan on Sunday with grid girls Paula Currie and Haley Bevan.

OUR local oval racing stars were in action at Tullyroan on Sunday when a beautiful warm 'sunny' day welcomed the Junior Production, 2ltr Hot Rods, Ninja Karts, Unlimited National Bangers.
The National Hot Rods, the fastest cars on the ovals, lined up to contest the sixth round of Hankook Performance Tyres World Qualifying Series
Junior Production - Matthew Nicholl
Matthew took the new Corsa 'C' out for its secong meeting hoping for better luck than its previous appearance when an electrical fault limited his performance, and what an impact he made by winning the days opening heat.
Matthew faced tougher opposition in heat two and after some door banging with other drivers he ended up in mid pack.
The days final was run just after the National bangers had been on track and left a lot of liquid and cement dust on the circuit, as the eager young drivers took the green flag the conditions caught them out, the resulting chaos caused Matthew to hit the wall hard before ending up on the grass.
A full race restart was called for by the race stewards allowing Matthew to take up his position on the reformed grid, unfortunately the earlier incident had damaged the Corsa's steering and he suffered but held on gamely to take a credible 7th place in the circumstances.
