A VISIBLY distraught Limavady Wolfhounds manager Mickey Boyle showed great composure and sportsmanship in the immediate aftermath of his team’s crushing defeat in the Premier Electric Junior Football Championship Final against Doire Trasna at Celtic Park on Saturday.

The 1804 spectators in attendance watched as Limavady lost out to the Derry team 0-09 to 2-11. In a tight first half, the Wolfhounds responded well to conceding two goals and were unlucky to be only trailing by two points at the break.

With all to play for in the second half, the more experienced City side rattled off five quick points and established a comfortable lead which they would not relinquish.

Mickey commented: “Obviously I am very disappointed at the defeat but on the day, the best team won.

“The two goals in the first half were real sucker blows. I thought that for most of the first half we were every bit as good as the Pearses.
