Double win for Limavady Ladies XI thumbnailWaiting for the pass.

1st XI the stars against Holywood
Limavady 1st XI........1
Holywood 1st XI........0
FROM the start, Limavady showed their determination to score three points. They gained possession quickly and in the first 10 minutes, made good attacks into the opposition's circle.
When Holywood counter-attacked, the defence made superb tackles under pressure.
Both teams had chances but failed to score by half time. For the first 10 minutes in the second half, Limavady had most of the possession.
The goal came from quick passing from the defence to midfield where Netty Wilson made a superb run down the right wing, in along the back line and put a pinpoint pass into Shauneen Mullan who finished well under pressure.
For the rest of the half, Limavady battled hard and dealt well with the attacks made by Holywood. This was a great result for the local ladies and as the team captain states: "Onwards and upwards."
Congratulations to Aine McCauley and Shauna Duffy for getting Player of the Match.
2nd XI ladies conquer Castle
Limavady 2nd XI.......3
THE first half started off with a bang as Limavady won the first penalty corner of the game. The slick corner, devised by Tasha Simmons, came out from herself to Jessie Ross to Rosey Cowdry and slapped into the back of the net by Amanda Anderson.
This great team work allowed the Limavady ladies to finish the first half 1-0 but Limavady where very unlucky not to score another three goals!
Castle's defence was under serious pressure in the circle during the send half. A ball was lifted high into Rosey Cowdry who controlled it with extreme skill and buried it into the net resulting in a score of 2-0 for the young Limavady side.
The third goal of the match came from open play where Anna McLernon skilfully found Caitlin Walker who scooped it over the Castle keeper and dropped it cleanly into the goals.
Fantastic hockey from all the ladies this week again. Well done!
Congratulations to Caitlin Walker and Amanda Anderson who were joint Players of the Match.
