Matthew’s big test thumbnailUp for the challenge! Matthew Nicholl at home before heading off to take part in the Ginetta Junior Scholarship which is taking place this week.

LIMAVADY'S oval circuit teenage star Matthew Nicholl is this week taking on his biggest challenge yet as he competes to win the biggest prize in UK motorsport - a fully-funded season in the Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship. The Ginetta Junior Championship is one of two Ginetta support series on the prestigious British Touring Car Championship car race series which travels the length and breadth of England and Scotland. The racing is televised live, attracting a huge audience so the winner can look forward to unrivalled exposure to fans, media and sponsors throughout their maiden year in circuit car racing.
The selection process will see Matthew go up against around 60 other candidates at Blyton Park, England. As well as his driving skill, Matthew will also be tested on his fitness, knowledge of the Ginetta series and on how he deals with the media and press interviews.
Matthew, as a championship and multi race winner on the oval tracks, has demonstrated his driving ability, however switching to circuit racing will be a totally different challenge. In the past few months, his main focus has been on the other aspects of the selection process as he has been building on his fitness and practiced interviews with media.
