Vital win for Roesiders thumbnailLimavady United defender Andy Devlin and Richard Gillan congratulate Robbie Hume on his goal against Loughgall on Saturday.

Limavady United..................3 Loughgall................1

UNITED moved up to fifth as they gained revenge over the Villagers for their early season defeat and in the process, managed to defy football logic as in recent weeks, they have somehow managed to win ugly and lose pretty. Saturday's performance was far removed from the previous week's free-flowing football at Tilleysburn Park but gritty defending, top-notch goalkeeping and team spirit saw the home side over the line.
For once United started the slower and the visitors had an early spell of dominance which ought to have led to them taking the lead.
After the home side gave the ball away cheaply in the fourth minute, McConnell fired over and on 12 minutes, Douglas had another near miss. The same player went close again on 20 minutes but took his shot while off balance and was off target. It was largely one-way traffic at this stage although on 25 minutes, Hume had a trade mark counter-attack, scampering onto a loose ball and shooting narrowly wide.
However, he was not to be denied and two minutes later, he had a tap in to open the scoring after good work from Ryan Logue, continuing his recent good form.
