Alastair Seeley enjoys success in race opener thumbnailAlastair Seeley recovered from a final lap scare on the EHA Racing Yamaha to make it win number 22 at the North West 200.

ALASTAIR Seeley extended his remarkable success story at the International North West 200 with victory in the curtain raising Supersport Race onboard the EHA Yamaha R6. Seeley crossed the finish line with 2.4 seconds in hand over second-placed James Hillier with Lee Johnston rounding out the podium positions on the Padgetts Honda. The result means the 'Wee Wizard' has won a race at the Triangle circuit every year since 2008.
“I'm delighted to be able to give Edward and Gail and the whole EHA Racing team and their sponsors this first ever win at the North West 200," said Seeley, whose break on the final blast down along the coast road section made sure of win number 22 for him.
"I kissed the kerb on the exit of the start-finish chicane on the last lap, but nothing too severe - there isn't even a mark on the [back] rim. From there it was head down - I put in a perfect lap record pace final effort to take the win. I am a very happy man," he added.
